Virtual stretches consist in mentally thinking about a stretch without any apparent physical movement. Focusing the mind on a movement can provide the same positive effects as the actual movement itself. The first part of this exercise consists in feeling  the body's reaction after a real physical movement in order to mentally record the sensation. It will then be much easier and effective to mentally reproduce this sensation during the second part of the exercise.
