With sulphur sellers, Sophie understands the pride of those who lived alongside Lord Aso, whom everyone here consider to be a real being. But a volcano can also be a source of well-being, as in Kurokawa and its rituals that use volcanic water springs. Sophie discovers the special relationship that the Japanese have with nature.
