Holidaying on a desert island is the dream of many tourists looking for relaxing stays and beautiful landscapes. But these isolated and preserved locations are becoming increasingly rare. Some people therefore put in a lot of passion and work in allowing these atolls lost in the ocean to be visited, and most importantly to not disappear. A challenge that is technological as well as ecological in order to minimise environmental footprints and become self-sufficient in energy, even in the middle of the Pacific ocean. We went to French Polynesia, where the island of Tetiaroa moves visitors with its beauty as well as its history. Marlon Brando launched a hotel that is both luxurious and exemplary.
