In the fifth week, the potters have to make two giant vases. For the first time in the competition, they use one of ceramics’ most exhilarating techniques: pit firing. This ancient firing method is one of the most unpredictable techniques in ceramics and requires the potters to travel to the Staffordshire countryside to spend the night camping. Who will emerge triumphant from this camping adventure? And who will return home?
