The Puppies are back with extraordinary, moving and funny stories from the formative months of their lives. This week, there are emotional journeys as our puppies join their new families.

Rocky the Golden Retriever finds joy, playing bubbles with his new little human friend. We first met Rocky on the day he was born, he just survived birth by Caesarean section. Now he’s as healthy and as excitable as any puppy. But will he learn how to play with a little human without knocking him over?

Gentle George the Doberman moves to Glasgow and has to learn how to behave nicely with his neurotic Chihuahua roommate, Fudge. Unfortunately, George’s enthusiasm is too much for little Fudge, who has to climb onto the sofa to get away.

Trucker the Malinois has to watch his step with his new canine family, which includes some tough former police dogs. After Trucker’s over-exuberant behaviour initially earns him a caution, he gets the hang of local etiquette and makes strides in the art of tracking.

Three terrier brothers, born to a rescue dog, try to master the knack of walking on a lead. But it’s not as simple as it sounds and Otto in particular kicks up a fuss. Until, that is, he’s bribed with treats. Lead training done, it’s an emotional separation as the three pups go their separate ways. We follow Murdoch to his new home where not all of the tenants – namely, a bunch of cats – are as friendly as his new humans.

We visit a rare litter of Swedish Vallhund pups, bred by the Vikings for herding cattle. Little Alexa has been selected to return to Sweden to refresh the bloodline and reduce inbreeding in the home country.
