Yoga originated in India. This ancient discipline aims to bring overall balance to the practitioner. Spiritual, mental and physical balance. Etymologically, “yoga” means “to bind” or “union”. The practice creates a link between soul, mind and body. Now widely democratized throughout the world, yoga exists in many forms. Here are just a few of them:

  • Hatha Yoga: A very gentle form of yoga, ideal for beginners.
  • Kundalini Yoga: This type of yoga focuses on awakening the vital energy (kundalini). It includes meditation, breathing, mantra and postures.
  • Restorative Yoga: As the name suggests, this therapeutic yoga is relaxing and restorative. It is practiced with props to maintain postures effortlessly.
  • Hot Yoga: practised in the heat to promote flexibility and detoxification
  • Bhakti Yoga: The yoga of devotion. It involves chanting (kirtans), prayer and spiritual connection.
  • Aerial yoga: A blend of yoga, acrobatics and pilates.
