E02 | Wonderful World of Puppies | On the road to adventure

The puppies are back with some new boisterous litters running amok and we continue to follow extraordinary personal puppy tales of courage and friendship. A litter of Belgian shepherd or malinois pups may one day work for the police, bringing down baddies. But first, they need to learn the basics of tracking and how to control their bite through play fighting. If you’ve seen the dog Dante in the film ‘Coco’, you’ll recognise this rare breed of Mexican hairless – or Xoloitzcuintli (pronounced sholo-its-quintli) – puppies. Our heroes are underdog Elara, runt of the litter and Gustavo, the hairy Mexican hairless pup who has a run in with the water feature. We witness another extraordinary birth as miniature poodle, Luna produces four tiny pups with bundles of glossy black hair. Will any of these little pups follow in her footsteps and be Best in show? We catch up with the progress of Shetland sheepdog, Single Simon who has the shock of his life when he moves to his ‘forever home’ to find that he shares it with a hoard of grown up Shelties like him. City slicker dog, Bear, is getting to know the ways of the country as he settles into his forever home. He meets some sheep – but will he be able to keep his primeval instincts under control? And we catch up with the progress of the two litters that we witnessed being born, last time. Golden retriever Rocky and his siblings run riot in the living room and enjoy chewing the carpets. And we follow Hungarian vizsla pup, Gilbert as he visits the vet and begins a course of hydrotherapy to treat the mysterious condition affecting his back legs.
