"Clare Balding is back celebrating the joy that our beloved dogs bring us. In this episode, JB Gill follows the heartbreaking tale of Hungarian Vizla Ulyss who was missing for 11 days and found trapped in a dense hawthorn hedge, caught up by his extendable lead. He had lost half his body weight and survived on sticks, twigs and rain water. Days after being found he was rushed to the vets and had emergency surgery for a perforated gut, but today, survivor Ulyss is back to his old self. Little dachshund Tye ran off from his dog walker into dense forest. After days of searching he was spotted hiding under a car, narrowly missing being hit by traffic. He was reunited with his heavily pregnant owner just before she went into labour, and is now best friends with the new baby. Reporter Chloe Fuller meets Lulu, a 13 year old Bichon Frise who was found as a stray, struggling to walk, and blind and deaf. But now she is happily in her forever home with retiree Robin, where she rules the roost! Rav Wilding reveals the latest way of protecting your dog – by storing their DNA profile it will be easier to prove your dog is yours, should they be stolen and their microchip removed. Working cocker spaniel Lily tries out the kit you can now buy online, and has her DNA profile banked! Clare gets the latest advice on the best places to get a dog, in particular older dogs – and the joy they can bring us – and learns now no lost dog is returned unchanged, often needing rehabilitation of some kind. In this programme Clare meets Odie, a French bulldog who is benefiting from hydrotherapy rehab. "
