E03 | Pete Wicks: For Dogs' Sake | Dave and Olive

Pete Wicks is helping at the Essex Dogs Trust centre when a badly injured terrier puppy called Dave is rushed in. He was dumped by his owners with what appears to be a badly broken front leg. After assessing him the team rush him off site to a specialist vet surgeon who will try to fix the break but if they can’t this could mean they will have to amputate. A young Doberman arrives in the intake area after she was smuggled into the country from Serbia. She was then seized at the port and has since spent three quarters of her short life in quarantine kennels. After her difficult start in life, Olive is now very afraid, especially of thresholds and doorways… so, Pete and the behavioural team will need to pull out all the stops to try to build Olive’s confidence up before she can even hope to find a home. Pete’s on hand as even more puppies keep coming in, as a litter of four huge Irish Doodles have come into the centre with some unusual medical symptoms that could be deadly.
