Comedian and cat lover Jo Brand meets the RSPCA officers, vets and volunteers that rescue and protect the nations much loved moggies. In Wallasey, Inspector Anthony Joynes is following up on a call from a warehouse owner about a mother cat, who’s choice to give birth under a disused cabin, has left her and her kittens in danger. With only days until the cabin is due to be demolished, can Anthony get the shy mum and her feral kittens out in time? Jo Brand pay’s a visit to an extraordinary woman, Silvana Valentino Lock, who has turned her home and ¾’s of an acre garden into a sanctuary for feral and unwanted cats. Taking at least 5 hours to get all the cats fed and watered, it’s quite a sight to behold. Over in Essex, Animal Collection Officer Lucy Fackerell, is responding to a call from a very concerned cat owner. Lauren Wilson’s cat Chloe, has been stuck up a large tree for 5 days without any food or water. With the cat around 25 meters above the ground, Lucy needs to pull out all the stops and call in all the help she can. It’s not going to be an easy rescue. And finally, we meet Brody at Harmsworth Hospital, who’s greediness got the better of him when he tried to take a bite from the family dinner and ended up falling off the counter and breaking a leg. Vet Cat Wood goes into surgery to try and see if she can help the poor moggie get back on all paws with a fiddly operation.
