Comedian and cat lover Jo Brand meets the RSPCA officers, vets and volunteers that rescue and protect the nations much loved moggies and finds out what they do at Christmas. On a cold Christmas Morning RSPCA inspector Marie Hammerton gets a call to an estate in Essex where a young cat called Marmaduke has got herself stuck underground somewhere in the warren of storm drains that crisscross the houses. Will she be able to get her out in time and create an RSPCA Christmas miracle? Next Jo Brand spends the morning with RSPCA volunteer Barb to find out just what happens at the centre at Christmas and plays Santa to the cats. On a cold and wet day in Birmingham, Inspector Louise Marston gets an emergency call out to a tiny 4 day old kitten in need of help. When she arrives, she discovers that the kitten has been abandoned by her mum, and is in urgent need of food and warmth. Can she find any room at the inn for this little kitten? Back at Leybourne animal centre, Jo meets two RSPCA workers that do amazing work for the charity. Firstly she catches up with Maureen, a woman who has fostered over 160 cats. And then she meets Hayley and has the task of giving three new kittens their very own Christmassy names. Finally Inspector Anthony Joynes is faced with rescuing a cat called snowy from the highest tree he’s ever had to face. Snowy is too high for Anthony to reach, so yet again the fire brigade is called in. But this time even their efforts fail. Will Snowy get down in one piece?
