Comedian and cat lover Jo Brand meets the RSPCA officers, vets and volunteers that rescue and protect the nations much loved moggies. In this episode there’s moggie mayhem in Liverpool when Animal Welfare officer Matt Brown gets called to a house that’s over-run with cats. The conditions inside are grim. Having already rescued 15 cats from the house, all suffering from severe life-threatening infections, it’s a race against time to save the remaining kitties before they become too ill to survive. Next Jo meets a little kitten called Pucino, who came into Harmsworth Animal Hospital as a stray. He has a small hernia where his belly button would be. Vet Imogen invites Jo to give her a helping hand in theatre, to sort this little cat out and repair the damage. In Birmingham Inspector Herchy Boal is on her way to a call about some kittens that have been abandoned in a crisp box. At only 5 weeks old and without a mother feeding them, these kittens are extremely vulnerable to catching infections. Herchy must get them seen to by a vet as quickly as possible, especially as one of them is suffering from an eye infection. If it’s cat flu, the health of these fluffy felines, could be in serious danger. At South Godstone Animal Centre, Jo meets Inspector Ellen Thomas, who introduces us to mother and daughter cats Susie and Minnie. When Ellen found the cats, they had been abandoned in a garden and left to fend for themselves. Sadly, it was later discovered that mum Susie had a cancerous lump which although the vets managed to remove, doesn’t leave her with that much longer to live. Can Jo find these two lovable moggies a happy home to live together?
